10 things for Eagles fans to ponder about Vikings
Ryan Longwell booted his 20th career game-winning field goal to lift the Vikings to a 20-19 victory over the Giants, and the Eagles needed three more things: a win over Dallas, a Bears loss in Houston, and a chartered plane to the frozen tundra of Minnesota.

Here are 10 things you should know about this weekend's playoff opponent:

1 This is the Vikings' first playoff appearance since 2004. They lost to the Eagles, 27-14, in the divisional playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field. Longwell's kick yesterday gave Minnesota its first divisional crown since 2000, when they played in the NFC Central.

2 Despite the brutal winter conditions in Minneapolis, it is always a balmy 65 degrees inside the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Vikings were 6-2 at home this season and 10-6 overall.

3Adrian Peterson has been a monster out of the Vikings' backfield all season. Peterson ran for 103 yards yesterday and was the league's top rusher with 1,760 yards.

4 Minnesota has won nine of its last 12 games.

5 The fifth time was the charm. The Vikings had lost their last four "win and you're in" games to get into the playoffs. That streak was halted yesterday.

6 Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has recently been one of the league's most accurate passers. His 126.1 passer rating over the last 3 weeks was second only to the Colts' Peyton Manning.

7 Minnesota has the NFL's No. 1 run defense and the sixth-best defense overall. The Vikes also sport the third-ranked rushing offense.

8 This was the Vikings' first 10-win season since 2000, when they finished 11-5.

9 Wide receiver Bernard Berrian fell 63 yards short of 1,000 for the season. That would have given the Vikings their first 1,000-yard rushing and receiving combo since 2002 (Michael Bennett, 1,296 rushing; Randy Moss, 1,347 receiving).

10 In his 3 years as the Vikings' head coach, former Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress is 3-3 against the NFC East. Childress' squad lost to the Eagles last season in Minnesota, 23-16. *
