Philadelphia Eagles Notes, Quotes 2008-09-11
--The Eagles may get WR Kevin Curtis back sooner than they expected. Curtis had surgery on August 21 to repair a sports hernia, and figured to miss the first half of the season. But coach Andy Reid said this week that he thinks Curtis may be back in time for the Eagles' October 12 game against San Francisco, or maybe even their October 5 division game against the Washington Redskins. "I'm optimistic that he won't be (out for another month and a half)," Reid said. "He's doing very well. The month and a half takes you to about the bye week (October 19), so hopefully we can get him back a little sooner (than that). But we'll see."

--For the moment at least, Donovan McNabb owns the lowest interception percentage in NFL history. With no picks in 33 attempts Sunday against St. Louis, McNabb lowered his career interception percentage to 2.098. That moved him ahead of Neil O'Donnell, who has a 2.106 career interception percentage. McNabb has thrown just one interception in his last 182 attempts, dating back to last season. He hasn't thrown an interception in 16 of his last 26 starts.

--Jim Johnson got all three of his top corners plenty of playing time Sunday. Asante Samuel was on the field for all 40 defensive snaps. The other starter, Sheldon Brown, was on the field for 32 snaps. And two-time Pro Bowler Lito Sheppard, now the team's nickel back, played 28 plays. "Winning handles and controls everything," said Brown when asked if Johnson's rotation can keep everyone, particularly Sheppard, happy. "No matter the (cornerback) rotation, nobody can complain when you're winning. What's important for us to understand is that we're here to win and try to accomplish something. All that other bullcrap, it can be handled at a different time. So, we don't really need to discuss it."

BY THE NUMBERS: 100 - The number of receiving yards DeSean Jackson, Greg Lewis and Hank Baskett all went over Sunday against St. Louis. It was the first time three Eagles receivers had 100-yard receiving performances in the same game since 1960.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've got guys who can really cover. Our linebackers and in our secondary. ... I really feel good about our coverage ability." -- Defensive coordinator Jim Johnson
