--Eagles coach Andy Reid said he never considered having quarterback Donovan McNabb try a quarterback sneak when they had the ball at the Chicago one-yard line late in the fourth quarter Sunday night. McNabb missed practice all week with an upper chest contusion. "I didn't feel comfortable (using him on a sneak)," Reid said. "Common sense tells you that you've got to be smarter than that." For his part, McNabb insisted that he would've had no qualms running a sneak. "I'm always willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win," he said. "If the sneak would've been called, I would've been more than willing to do it."
--David Akers missed two field goals against the Bears from 50 and 47 yards, respectively. Over the last two seasons, he's made just three of 13 field goal attempts from 40-plus yards. "I thought I really hit the ball well," Akers said. "I hit it where I wanted it to go. But in dropping the trajectory down to drive them through, it became more of me miscalculating how much the ball was going to move than my actual kicks."
