--The Eagles converted 11 of 17 third-down opportunities against the Browns. In their three consecutive wins, they are an impressive 33-for-50 on third down (66.0 percent). In the previous five games, they were 18-for-70 (25.7).
"Manageable third downs are important," coach Andy Reid said. "You want to keep yourself out of third-and-9, although we had a couple of those (Monday). You have to make sure you come out and put yourself in a (manageable) position with the run game and with possession throws. You have to make sure that you are plus in both of those areas. I thought we did a nice job with that."
--For the second time this season, the Eagles had a player who was running for a touchdown throw the ball away before he crossed the goal line. WR DeSean Jackson did it in the second week of the season, negating what would have been a 61-yard score. In Monday night's win over the Browns, CB Asante Samuel intercepted a pass and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. But he tossed the ball away before he got into the end zone. Fortunately for him, it bounced into the end zone and he grabbed it before a Browns defender fell on it.
"I guess I dropped the ball a little bit (early)," Samuel said. "I didn't quite get there and dropped it. So I picked it up as soon as I realized it. I was just thinking, 'Oh, man, I'm about to mess up my touchdown.' I thought I'd better hurry up and get the ball."
